Navis Amoris T-Shirt

At first glance, this looks like chant.

Red staff lines drift across a black field, austere and restrained, as if lifted from a medieval manuscript. There are no lyrics, no clef to guide the uninitiated—just fragments of melody suspended in space.

The tune is Navis Amoris.

If that name doesn’t ring a bell, it’s meant not to.

This design takes a familiar television theme and translates it—literally—into Latin, then renders it in the visual language of plainchant. The result is equal parts scholarly, absurd, and oddly reverent. A hymn to romance, rewritten as if it had survived a few centuries in a monastery library.

You don’t have to recognize the source to appreciate the restraint and mystery. But if you do recognize it, the joke lands softly—and stays with you.
